The EASIEST bagel recipe ever, seriously!! No yeast or rising time needed. Plus the greek yogurt gives them some extra protein and makes them super moist! Best served with egg, cheese, and avocado in my opinion :)
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups non-fat greek yogurt
1 egg white, beaten or whisked
optional toppings: everything but the bagel seasoning, parmesan cheese, salt, cinnamon&sugar, you name it!
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt and whisk well.
Add the yogurt and mix with a fork or spatula until well combined. It will look like small crumbles.
Lightly dust flour on a clean working surface and remove the dough from the bowl. Shape the dough into a ball and knead it a few times, about 15 turns. It will be sticky so flour your hands if necessary.
Divide into 4-6 equal balls, depending how many/how large you want your bagels to be.
Roll each ball into 1-inch thick ropes and join the ends to form the bagels.
Brush the egg wash onto both sides of the bagel then sprinkle with the toppings of your choice.
Bake for 25 minutes, then let cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting and enjoying.
